Be sure to adventure out to Argyle Falls, La Brea Pitch Lake, Caroni and Nariva Swamps, Asa Wright Nature Center, and Point-a-Pierre Wild Fowl Trust. Beaches such as Maracas Bay and Mazanilla Beach are a must.

Tobago Is A Unique Experience

Compared to Trinidad, Tobago outwardly appears to be party city. But there is much more to the 116 square miles that make it up. Home to the oldest protected rainforest in the Western hemisphere, the Main Ridge Forest Reserve, Tobago is home to over 6000 species of plants and animals and has earned the award of best eco destination in the world. Grafton Caledonia Wildlife Sanctuary is just one of many different types of Sanctuaries available for touring. Charlottesville, which overlooks the azure sea, is one of the most picturesque villages on the island and is worth the drive to get there. The city of Buccoo is home to the Goat and Crab Races which are held annually during the Easter holidays. There are two championship golf courses on the island, The Mount Irvine Golf Course and The Tobago Plantations Golf Course. And events not to be missed are the Tobago Fest (similar to Carnival) and Panorama – the annual competition for steel pan bands. Miles and miles of glorious beaches such as Nylon Pool, Castara Bay, Englishman’s Bay, Store Bay, and Pigeon Point Beach are always highly rated. Restaurants worth trying are: Salsa Kitchen Tapas Restaurant, La Tartaruga Italian Restaurant, King’s Bay Café, The Seahorse Inn, and La Cantina. A sampling of the seemingly never-ending nightlife includes: Bar Code, bonkers, Crystal Palace, Rouselle’s and The Flambeaux.
